Yes! I think there's a kind of shame behind people pleasing. Shame that prioritizing our own time will make us a bad person. Maybe because the idea of being seen as 'selfish' can feel unbearable.
I sweeeear, this is the reason why I haven’t looked after myself or prioritised myself at ALL. I thought it was because I was a nice person but it was because I didn’t deem myself worthy and I just wanted people to like me. Also this made up theory that “if they’re happy I’ll be happy” which was NEVER true alongside feeling selfish 😅 the brain is crazy right? Thanks for your comments lovely 🫶
